At Kalbar State School we believe that it is essential that all children have access to learn to swim classes and swimming lessons, as water safety is a vital aspect in current school-aged children’s lives. Each year Kalbar State School runs swimming lessons for all year levels (Years 4 – 5 during Term 1 and Years P – 3 during Term 4).
At Kalbar, we are lucky enough to gain access to Boonah Swimming Pool for these lessons, where students are able to start their learn to swim process or continue to maintain the swimming skills that they already possess. Our qualified teachers work alongside Boonah Pool Swimming Instructors to maximise learning potential and ensure students are provided with the best possible opportunity to excel in the pool.
For our senior students, swimming lessons are followed by a swimming carnival where they are able to showcase the extensive swimming skills and improvements that they have made over what usually makes up 4 weeks of swimming lessons. Our carnivals are a great opportunity to bring together our community for an enjoyable day of swimming.
