Sport Houses

Students at Kalbar State School are placed into one of two competitive sporting houses. These two houses are known as Evans and Gordon. The school sporting houses face off against each other in a number of events throughout the year, some of which include our three big carnivals; swimming, cross country and athletics.

Each house has its own house colour, to which students wear with pride at school and more particularly on school carnival days. Students in the Evans house wear yellow and students in the Gordon house wear green.

These sporting houses emphasise the meaning of team and competition at Kalbar State School; an important aspect of learning for all students persisting through their primary school years. These sporting houses also allow students to grasp and demonstrate qualities of competitiveness, encouragement and most importantly sportsmanship.
